Job Title: National Administrative Coordinator
Location: New York, NY
Position Summary
AVODAH is seeking a National Administrative Coordinator who will have responsibility for overseeing administration for AVODAH’s National office. AVODAH is a growing and dynamic organization, currently seeking to double the number of participants in our core program. The Administrative Coordinator will play an integral role in supporting our development/fundraising and marketing in particular and will help define administrative systems and processes to enable that growth. The Administrative Coordinator reports to the Associate Executive Director. The position provides excellent benefits.
Job Description
- Enter all donations into fundraising database and maintain all donor and member records and files
- Receive all checks, prepare and make all bank deposits
- Create all donor acknowledgement letters
- Manage and maintain the integrity of the donor database including data entry, resolution of duplicate entries, complete and accurately spelled data; producing reports to track fundraising and financial results and creating queries.
- Ensure that all of AVODAH’s sites have necessary marketing and communication materials
- Process mailings, including constituent solicitations, direct mail appeals, event invitations, special acknowledgements and other communications as needed
- Assist with foundation research
- Maintain foundation files
- Help with all aspects of AVODAH’s New York annual fundraising event
- Attend national Board Meetings and prepare minutes
- Manage logistics for national Board including Board meetings, mailings, contact information, etc.
- Screen phone calls and respond to general inquires
- Facilitate all administrative needs for National Board – (keeping track of votes, filing board minutes, etc.)
- Manage logistics for national staff retreat
- Maintain office supplies and replenish stock
- Conduct any other duties to support administrative function of national office
- Occasional evening and weekend work to support events
Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively and diplomatically
- Extremely well organized and detailed oriented; can execute multiple projects simultaneously
- Enthusiastic and flexible self-starter eager to think creatively and develop initiatives
- Excellent computer skills, proficiency with MS Word and Excel; familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Interested in AVODAH’s mission of integrating social activism and Jewish life
