The AVODAH Fellowship is a new program for Jewish early career professionals working to alleviate poverty in the United States, beginning in January 2014 in New York City. Based on a curriculum grounded in Jewish thought and learning, the AVODAH Fellowship will provide mentorship, training, community, and networking opportunities to support young Jewish professionals engaged in the antipoverty field, while integrating participants into AVODAH’s extensive alumni network of social justice leaders throughout the country.
Application for the Fellowship includes:
1. The application form, including several short essay questions.
2. A short video essay (3-5 minutes) where you choose a text that is meaningful for you and tell us about it - this could be a poem, excerpt from a book, ancient or modern Jewish text, etc. Further instructions on the content and on sending the video file can be found in the application.
3. Your resume. The resume should include previous work and volunteer experience, as well as any relevant training you've participated in
4. Two references: please provide two individuals that have worked with you in some capacity (professional, lay, volunteer, etc.) in the past year. One must be from your current supervisor. Each reference will need to complete a short written form (link included in the application).
